I love it because the food is so good and the lady here she explains every thing about dishes and the main thing is its a few halal food option in kyoto overall good food
MoreFound this place due to the super high reviews on google! Definitely didnt disappoint, had an absolutely fantastic time, owners were so friendly and welcoming. We shared a beef tagine, the berber omellete and chicken cous cous between 3 and it just seemed to get better with each bite. Totally recommend trying it, best morrocan ive had this side of the world!
MoreAwesome Moroccan restaurant , each and every item we had was super tasty , and it's a halal restaurant , the owner couple was really friendly , we had a nice chatting while enjoying our food , highly recommend !
MoreWe stumbled upon La Baraka on our recent trip to Kyoto. The food was delicious and it was lovely to hear the story behind the dishes. Definitely recommend the beef tagine - so full of flavour. Would recommend for those looking for something hearty and full of veggies and flavour.
MoreFantastic middle eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.. real value for money. Better than local dishes served in Abu Dhabi , Dubai and Qatar.. friendly star service too by Chef Mustafa and wife ...
MoreA delicious blast of veggies and meat with 99 spices; couscous gets an A+.
The best harira soup I’ve had in my life! I also had the beef tajine, which was out of this world. Such a lovely, lovely place.
MoreLa-Baraka ( Moroccan Cuisine ) モロッコ料理 This is a place where you can enjoy the taste of authentic Morrocan Cuisine in Kyoto. The price is reasonably arranged for the great quality of the meals. Just 2,000 yen would be more than enough for a dinner ( withought alcoholic beverages ). In an exotic family-like atmosphere they would perfectly serve your needs on a precious occasion such as for your group party, reunion etc. The friendly owner of the restaurant will always offer his cheerful welcome. He performs professional hands on serving tea in traditional Moroccan fashion. The owner is very open to tell you about the story of his hometown. You are sure to have a good time. Their location and address is here. Just go down south on kawaramachi street from Shijo. It'll be there on the east side of the street inside the 1st basement floor of Sakura Office Building. MoreAmazing food, very nice and welcoming hosts. I had the chance to celebrate my birthday there and they were so nice to me and gave me a gift at the end. One of my favorite places in Kyoto where you can have nice tasty Halal food 😋I love it ! And I’m definitely coming back !
MoreExceptional food. We ordered a beef kofta tajine and a side of bread each and it was SO GOOD and the perfect portion size for us (M,33 and F,25). The owners were lovely people and made it a really relaxed and enjoyable evening. Would absolutely go again.
MoreIn addition to the generous portions and delicious food, the service was extraordinary. Never have I been to a restaurant where the owner and his wife take time to get to know their guests and explain everything with such detail and history. We left feeling full, happy, and like members of a new family. I can’t recommend this place enough!
MoreAmazing food! The best I've tried in years. The chef was so nice and we had a fun chat also. Thank you so much. Don't miss out on this place!
MoreFriendly welcoming atmosphere. Tasty Morrocan dishes. Our large group was accommodated comfortably and served efficiently. Moreover it's Halal. Very popular with my Japanese and SE Asian colleagues.
MoreSome of the best homestyle cooking I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Menu is short, so may be difficult if you have picky eaters in your group, but if you like delicious food and beautiful spicing then don't miss it! The proprietors are lovely and very welcoming and it's an excellent value.
MoreAbsolutely delicious and a great experience. Billed as a Moroccan restaurant - and it is - but apparently it's Berber. The very friendly chef and his wife were very proud of thier food and traditions and happily shared the details of its source, history, ingredients, and preparation. We ordered and shared two of the lunchtime specials- Tajine and couscous. What a tremendous wealth of ingredients and flavors! It was rich, but not oily or heavy, with a sweetness that came from dried fruits, and not sugar. I'll absolutely go again.
MoreVery good. Original Morrocan cuisine by a great Morrocan chef. His wife is very knowledgeable. They have authentic Morrocan wine and fine spices
MoreLovely quaint and homely restaurant. The owners are exceptionally welcoming and it felt more like visiting someone's home. The food was comforting and utterly satiating.
MoreDelicious food and super friendly owners. We had a great time and will certainly be back. Of what we ordered, the chicken couscous was my favorite.
MoreBest morrocan food I've tried. Very friendly owner. Must try at least once
Amazing cosy restaurant with a splendid Moroccan menu, run by a Moroccan chef and his Japanese wife. The couple are so friendly and the food is amazing. Highly recommend it!
MoreAmazing halal food in Kyoto. Owner and wife are very friendly. Good portions. We will be coming back here!
MoreFirst try of morrocan food
Very good food. The best host !!!! Believe me. It's a must place come when you go to Kyoto. Good food and good people and community
MoreAmazing authentic Moroccan food. We came here as a hungry group of 10 and rolled out the door completely stuffed a couple hours later. The owners are a lovely couple and provided a really informative introduction to Moroccan food and culture. The price was reasonable considering the volume of food. I’ll be back for sure.
MoreChef/owner Moustafa cooks authentic dishes, imports spices and flavors directly from Morocco (and beer and wine!) and takes full advantage of the quality of his fresh vegetables (when cooking without water like in a tajine, ingredients natural flavor matters). We had tajine, cous-cous and grilled skewers and had all three types of meat. Flavorful. Delicious. (FYI We have travelled to Morocco and enjoyed Moroccan food when living in France and Belgium). Moustafa’s wife is very attentive and creates a warm and welcoming environment. Collectively the speak 4 languages. Added bonus: in Kyoto, a Moroccan restaurant feels local and is packed with regular patrons, as tourists prefer Japanese fare (we live in Tokyo and are “domestic” tourists). We will go back La Baraka next time we’re in town.
MoreExtreeeemely delicious! The spices were fantastic. I had a beef tajin set with soup salad and main dish for about 2000 yen. The meat is juicy and melts in your mouth! The special maroccon tea after dinner is a must! Thank you!
MoreMy family and I went here on our last night in Kyoto and I cannot recommend more! I had the chicken tagine and it was one of the best meals of my life! The flavours and the freshness of the food was perfect. Plus the owners could not have been more friendly, it felt like we were in their family home. Highly recommend if you want an authentic Moroccan experience
MoreThe food here is incredible, and a welcomed departure from the Japanese food we have been eating constantly for the last week. We ordered the beef tagine set and chicken couscous. The flavors were so complex and amazing--I'm honestly not sure I've had better Moroccan fare anywhere else. Not only was it delicious, but one of the owners even gave us the historical background on Moroccan style cooking. In fact, both owners are incredibly pleasant people. They are a couple who have a truly heartwarming story. I would say this place is a must-go if you need something a little different during your travels or everyday routine.
MoreDelicious food and such friendly service! Moroccan husband and Japanese wife are a great team. We highly recommend La Baraja. It’s an incredible little gem in Kyoto.
MoreThe restaurant was owned and run by husband and wife. The place was underground using stairs. The food was nice and made hot based on order. They have authentic recipe from morocco origin of the husband. Kindly note that you need to order one set/food for each person and they do not allowed of sharing the food. So for those that looking to save money this might not be your prefered choice. The portion was huge and sure will make you full. Price consider okay with the portion. Overall, nice experience.
MoreI went to la Baraka for two times and the experience was really great in both times.. the owners are so friendly and welcoming and most importantly the food and drinks were amazing. Definitely going for a third time.
MoreAll was so delicious. Very cozy place with nic e owners. Dream to come back.
Wow.... awesome food.... first time I have tried Moroccan food and was very delicious.... Considering price quantity was huge also..... It was hard to finish the whole meal.....
MoreThis place melted my heart. This husband and wife duo work tirelessly to ensure every small detail is fine. The food is superb, filling and the aroma is beautiful. A must go to in Kyoto
MoreDelicious Moroccan dishes I absolutely recommend the beef/chicken Tajin & Harira soup
MoreWe had the beef tajine and chicken couscous, both were delicious but the tajine was especially good. We were surprised to find such authentic Moroccan food so far away from home. Hats off to Mustafa and Salima for the food and for the hostmanship, shoukran!
MoreBest Moroccan food I've found through traveling (aside from Morocco itself of course). The owners are fantastic people who take the time to meet every guest. If you need a break from the local cuisine (or just want to have a great meal) I can't recommend La Baraka enough!
MoreGreat food and great service. The owners were very welcoming and friendly.
The food was fantastic, and the couple running the restaurant were lovey as well. Definitely worth getting the Moroccan tea. The menu was in Japanese, English, and Arabic.
MoreDelicious food and very friendly staff! It was my first time at a Moroccan restaurant and the owners explained a lot about the food and the culture. Had a very enjoyable evening!
MoreAbsolutely delicious. Service and atmosphere were perfect. 100% reccomend.
This place is honestly the definition of comfort food. The food is SO delicious and the hosts are so warm and friendly, you feel immediately at home. I can't wait to go back!
MoreAmazing Moroccan dishes. I've had Moroccan food before but this place uses local Kyoto vegetables who everyone knows taste really good. They also use a spice blend unique to the owner's family. A must try if you're in Kyoto since the flavour is unique to this place.
MoreOwners were incredible. I came during a lull, and they sat with me and taught me all about Morocco and the history of all the dishes I ate. They even helped me plan a trip to Morocco and gave recommendations for when I was there!
MoreGreat find of authentic Moroccan food. Good, friendly owners, delicious food.
Really glad we stumbled on this one. Husband and wife restauranteurs who take immense pride in the quality of their food and hospitality / cleanliness. In Arabic, La Baraka means a blessing and it certainly felt that way when dining here as the good was simply outstanding. Wish I could try again especially the tagines but alas my Kyoto trip is done.
MoreMoroccan Cuisine cooked to perfection also halal. Homely warm atmosphere. The service was excellent. I have no problem recommending La Baraka.
MoreWe went to a Moroccan restaurant in Kyoto on a whim. La Baraka was fantastic. The lamb brochettes were excellent as was the Harira soup. The owners explained the ingredient choices made in the recipes and the cultural context of out food choices. The Moroccan tea at the end wrapped the meal up perfectly.
MoreTo put it short, the best Moroccan dish you can eat in Kyoto. Really friendly and attentive owners too. Highly recommended when you visit Kyoto!
MoreThe place is so small, the hospitality so despondent and the staff don’t welcome families specially little kids.I came twice yesterday and didn’t get a place or help from the staff.
